There are many ways that we need the support of Christian people, especially those in the Lutheran churches. Your brothers and sisters in Siberia need many things. Especially, they need the preached Word and the Sacraments faithfully administered. They have pastors and deacons to do these things but they need our support to help them do this work.
Please, first of all, pray for the Siberian Evangelical Lutheran Church. pray for their Bishop, Pastors, and Deacons. Urge your pastor to pray from the holy altar, pray in your homes. Pray with your friends during Bible study and whenever you gather.
Also, please consider giving regularly to our Mission Society. All your money goes to Siberia. None of it stays in with us.
If you would like it, we can arrange that your offerings support a particular congregation. This is beneficial to them and to your congregation. They receive regular support and you develop a personal link to your brothers and sisters.
Encourage your Sunday Schools and Vacation Bible Schools to support us with their offerings too.
In January Bob Kiefer joined the board of SLMS as assistant Secretary Treasurer. Bob has assumed the responsibility of volunteer bookkeeper for SLMS. Bob will combine his lifelong LCMS background with his financial talent to assist the board in the day to day activities of tracking donations and missionary support for SLMS. Bob is the Financial Secretary and Bookkeeper for Ascension Lutheran Church and School in Fort Wayne. He has served the Indiana District of LCMS in several positions including most recently Treasurer. Bob is retired from a 30 year career in banking. In retirement Bob and his wife Carol enjoy time with their 4 married children and 11 grandkids. Bob believes God has blessed him in retirement with gifts that he can share with his church. He continues to read about the Siberian missions and interact with those who have championed this challenge. “I am pleased to see the work SLMS has done and excited to be a part of the continued work. God’s word is being proclaimed to people in need of His salvation!” Kiefer stated.
